Mighty Mind 2009

Hey guys!! I'm back!!! Haha.. Anyway, sometime suay happened today.. I spilled my drinks on myself outside while eating kueh tiaw.. =( The Mighty Mind Challenge will start at 1130 hours for us higher sec. category.

Anyway... After breakfast, I went home to bath and change(the fresh lime juice very sticky..) And prepared.. Then dad sent me to school to wait for Sam. And Anellen was already there... Reading.... Add Math(as expected from our add math pro).

Sam's car arrived and we all went to tHe Spring(along with Daniel, his brother). When we all reached there, the form3s are already having their competitions.. And they got it to the 2nd round with ease.. Not fair..

We, on the other hand, had some troubles(the other group did way better than us).. The 1st challenge was quizes on Sciences and Math and General Knowledge.. It was tough! Since 60 teams joined, so only half will move on to the next round.. We answered all the questions and waited for the results lor.. Then we WERE supposed to lose.. But thank God, we got the 30th place in quiz and move on to the next round!!

The next round was a hands-on challenge, where we were asked to build stuffs.. From there, the judge will determine the 5 finalist and they have to orally present their modal.. The F123s were asked to do a suspension bridge modal using colour papers, straws and satay sticks.. And one of them(Shien Ping's group) got into the top5!! Gratz guys!! You guys are awesome!

The time has come!! Our turn.. So we all gather at the spot assigned to us. Once the clock starts ticking, very nervous ar.. We drew our designs and built a mouse trap(which worked rather unsuccessfully). When the time's up, we all had to leave our working place.. And the judge will check on our modal. After that, they announced the result, again, at 1st we thought "die liao".. But then, our modal won top5!! We were like very, very happy!! Besides, the other group also got in.. =D

The sad thing is, the other group got top3 in the end and they walk away with RM1000! The same goes to Shien Ping's group! And, alas! We only stayed in top5.. =( So we all went back at 2130 hours..

Nevertheless, it was a great experience.. We ate McD for breakfast and Ayamas for lunch(all provided ler). Haha... I'm really pround of our Arangnites - two 3rd place, one top5, one made it to the 2nd round(don't worry Arron, there's always next time!)

Pride?

"Time to announce the results for the Physics Paper: Adrian __marks, Anellen 84%, ........, Esther __marks, Gloria 84%, ..." said the Physics teacher in the lab during out Physics class.

"Crap, your paper 2 is 4marks higher than mine!" Anellen said, much to my annoyance. Then the conversation continues...

Me: So what? Your paper one is 41/50. Isn't that way better than mine already??

Anellen: Just a bit more then can beat you liao ma.... I wished I got higher makes than you..

Me: *hits Anellen with the test papers* So what? I can be better than you what.. If only the during the last
test I DIDN'T forget to complete the last question....!

Anellen: .....

Me: Eh, lend me your paper.. I wanna check on some mistakes of mine..

After awhile.. I realised something...

Me: You know ho...? Actually I can get a higher mark ler... I though pencils aren't allow in an examination, especially when you're answering the questions(not drawings)..

Vui Long: Yeah lor.. LOL.. Come let's tell teacher...

Anellen: *Laughs but has nothing to say*

Sometimes I wish I wasn't that sensitive about always getting the top... It's feels so... Unpeaceful.. Lol.. I mean, the 1st minute you feel very proud, and the next you'll be sulking because other people are better than you. Like this(It's a bit like talking to myself):

Crap! I'm didn't score the highest in class for physics.
Don't worry, try again next time.. You still have room for improvement.

But he had the same score as I do! It's not fair..
Pride isn't everything....

I know... It's just that.... It's very frustrating!!
If you don't succeed, try, try again..

Sigh.. *looks at Anellen* I hate it when he always gets better than me.
Don't worry.. The marks doesn't matter, SPM doesn't look at your position in class either what....

*Calms down* Nevermind.. I'll get a better mark than him in the next test..
Don't be too competitive.. Compete with yourself... Or not later you'll get jealous again.. Don't wreck your brains over something like this.. Your results doesn't determine who you are..

Sigh... What to do.. I'll just have to work it out.. Pray for me so that I don't fall into pride. =)

Cooking

Hey all! Hmmm, since it's still a holiday, I shall try to update my blog.. Before I've got no time at all.. Hahah.. Anyway, 2 nights ago(I was too busy last night that I can't update) I helped mum to cook dinner.. =D Rare sight, huh? Anyway, we cooked meat balls.. So, yeah, I got bored and took some pictures..


I hate cutting mushrooms though.. It's so err.... squishy?


Mum means the meat already.. Haha.. So I'm just mixing 'em with the mushrooms..

Lundu Retreat, New Phone, Holidays, etc...

Hey all! Yeah, yeah.. I know... I hadn't been blogging since ages.. Not like Grace or Ivanna, I have err.. absolutely no idea on what to blog.. lol..

Anyway, like some of you peeps have known.. I just got myself a new phone!!!! K801i.. LOL... Remember the last time my phone got CRUSHED by cars? Anyway...

EmBaCY youth and college group and the young adults went for a Lundu retreat.. Actually I ar.. Didn't want to go.. But ended up going because... How shall I put it... Change of heart I guess? Haha..

It was fun!! And we all had a great time.. Too bad I was there for only a day.. T_T Another thing I missed the most there was the Mafia game!! Haha! Also kinda miss Queen(Crystal), Ivanna, Grace, Tania, Cordelia, Letitia, Serene, StephanieS, and many other who played along together.. Let's play it again sometimes okay?? Haha..

About the pictures.. Hmm... I'll update it as soon as possible.. Around this week.. =D

Never Will I Regret

About the decision I made.. To become a prefect.. There definitely are a few reasons why...

First of all.... I have absolutely NO TIME at all to attend a few meetings and there, there... Some people are already starting to badmouth me... Pointing like they've never pointed before..

Second, I also have NO TIME to study at home.. So what did I do? Study in school lor.. Oh, oh, oh!! The best thing is, I CANNOT STUDY DURING RECESS!! Wahhh!! No wonder lar.. My results turn of to be better than the last time.. Tell you what, there was once, I when I was HOLDING a book, not even studying it(maybe just took a few peeks) and I actually got lectured by that when I was actually doing my job at the canteen's female counter, whereas the other few(located at the female and male counter). Talking, talking and talking like there's no tomorrow and did not do what they're supposed to get away with it... Great huh?

Third, they never empathize with us.. People like yours truely tuition from Monday to Thursday(and 2 tuition per day on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) REALLY HAVE TO TIME BUT TO LEAVE some meeting earlier... What do people like me get?? A GREAT BIG SCOLDING FROM you-know-who + parents(especially when one went overseas and the other one have to fetch 2 children here and there skipping work sometimes)!

I shall never forget how lucky I am to be one..!
